10 questions, 12 very different answers

Each month we will feature a new THOR member travel agent who’s been asked to respond to the same 10 questions. See how different the answers can be!

Q: If you were to be stranded on any island in the world, which island would you choose and what type of beverage would you have in your hand?

I would want to be stranded on Rangiroa (a coral atoll located in the Tuamotu Island group in French Polynesia) with a glass of Vin de Tahiti Blanc de Corail - that’s pure bliss!

Q: What is your idea of a country escape and where have you gone to experience this for yourself?

My idea of a country escape is a road trip with tree-covered winding roads, where you encounter small towns with a story and history. One of my favorites is the Gold Country of northern California - Nevada City is one of my favorite stops.

Q: What types of precautions do you take to stay healthy while you travel?

I definitely take my regular vitamins with me and make a point of drinking more water than usual. I also take some extra packets of Emergen-C® to help keep colds at bay.

Q: Name one iconic destination you have been able to experience. Was it everything you imagined it would be?

This is a tough one as there are so many to pick. I would probably have to pick The Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem. I was fortunate enough to visit during a time with few tourists and had a chance to sit and reflect in total peace and quiet.

Q: If travel were a food, what would it taste like?

A sushi rainbow roll - such a great variety of tastes that all complement each other and are so delicious that it’s hard to pick a favorite.

Q: What type of changes in travel are you seeing with the Millennial Generation?

There is a lot more collaboration when working with Millennials. They like to research their trips and so we work together incorporating their information along with mine to create unique and individualized itineraries.

Q: You have a free weekend to getaway for a quick vacation. Where would you go?

I would go to San Francisco. San Francisco has great food, good sightseeing and its close enough to wine country to do a wine tasting day trip, too.

Q: You were just told you won an all-inclusive trip to any resort and spa in the world! Where would you go?

I would go to the CuisinArt Golf Resort & Spa on Anguilla. They customize the entire experience for mind, body and soul so that I would be completely rejuvenated at the end of my stay.

Q: If you could choose any sports star to travel with, who would you choose and where would you go?

I would go with professional cyclist Alberto Contador to France. I would have him lead me on some of the famous routes from the Tour de France.

Q: What is the best part about being a travel agent?

I love discovering destinations through my clients’ eyes. Even with places that I know well, I discover something new as I design travel based on their interests.
