In the past year, how many vacations have you taken outside of the country?

This past summer, I visited Germany, France (the Alsace region) and Switzerland (for a family reunion).

Which celebrity chef would you most like to fix you a meal?

Either Gordon Ramsay or Mario Batali.

If you could go to any city in the world to experience the history, people and culture, where would you go?

Paris, France. It is my favorite city.

What’s the one food you could never bring yourself to eat?

Raw meat or fish.

What is the best travel perk you’ve received from a loyalty program?

I once won a set of luggage, which has been well used.

Have you ever visited a UNESCO World Heritage Site?

I’ve been lucky to visit many UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Some of my favorites are Pont du Gard and the city of Carcassone in France. I would love to see Angkor in Cambodia and Cesky Krumolv in the Czech Republic.

While on vacation, what is the most ‘extreme’ thing that you have done?

While traveling in Norway, we did a glacier walk with crampons and picks and were roped together to avoid being lost in crevasses.

Which individual would you most want to meet in person: Richard Branson, Elon Musk, Oprah Winfrey or Bill Gates?

Richard Branson. I’ve always thought of him as being a “star” among travel professionals.

What’s the first thing you do when you get home from a trip?

I take my dog for a good long walk and do laundry.

Which is your favorite travel app on your mobile phone?

I’ve only used navigation apps as I’m a bit “old school”.

What hotel lobby feature has been your favorite so far?

I liked The Peninsula Hong Kong.

If you could travel back in time, what year would you travel to?

I would love to travel back to 1974 and backpack throughout Europe.

Would you rather win an Olympic medal, an Academy Award or the Nobel Peace Prize?

I would rather win the Nobel Peace prize because it would mean that I had done something valuable to the world.

What one packing tip would you share with clients?

Take half the luggage and twice the money.

If you could shop for free at one store, which one would you choose?

Crate and Barrel.
