Q: What is your favorite airport and what does it offer that makes it your favorite?

One of my favorite airports would have to be Heathrow Airport in London. They have a great selection of food choices as well as many varied shops, like the mini Harrods, for last minute shopping.

Q: Where did you go on your last road trip?

My last road trip was to San Diego. We overnighted in Phoenix, so a trip to the Grand Canyon wasn’t far enough out of the way to miss out on experiencing this awesome area.

Q: What was the last trip you took where you were treated like a VIP and what was the VIP treatment?

While checking in at the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego last summer, the receptionist noted that I had three teenagers traveling with me. They gave me an upgraded corner room that had a large alcove, which made the room almost a suite.

Q: What book or movie have you read or watched that makes you want to visit the location in which it takes place?

The first time I watched “An Affair to Remember” with Cary Grant, I knew I had to visit the Amalficoast of Italy. It did not disappoint me!

Q: What is your favorite allinclusive resort?

I loved the Sandals Montego Bay in Jamaica. They have so many dining venues. The beach was beautiful. They also have a glass bottom boat that took us to a private lunch venue on their nearby tiny island.

Q: What’s the most bizarre travel trend that you have encountered?

The most bizarre travel trend I have encountered is having to use your room or cabin key in order to turn on the lights. It may be an energy saver, but it’s not very convenient.

Q: If you hosted a dinner party for a couple who was visiting from out-of-town, what meal would you make for them that encompasses the local flavor of where you live?

Living on the Mexican border, it has to be something with a Southwest flavor that would include chilies, avocados, peppers, rice and beans.

Q: Craft breweries have become a huge tourist attraction, many people travel for conventions and tasting tours. What craft brewery would you recommend and why?

I’m not familiar with any craft breweries, so I could not offer an opinion.

Q: What hotel restaurant is your favorite?

After a chilly day of sightseeing, the New York Marriott Marquis has a wonderful selection at their buffet.

Q: Why should more people use travel agents to book their corporate or leisure travel?

There is no way anyone, other than a travel agent, is more aware of all the “specials” that are offered on a weekly basis. Travel agents also offer individual attention to details that can make all the difference to a client.
