In the past year, how many vacations have you taken outside of the country?

Which celebrity chef would you most like to fix you a meal?

Mario Batali – I love Italian food.

Have you ever visited a UNESCO World Heritage Site?

Last year my wife and I visited several UNESCO sites in China. I would love to see the Great Barrier Reef in the future.

What’s the first thing you do when you get home from a trip?

Pamper the cats.

What is the best travel perk you’ve received from a loyalty program?

I received an upgrade to Upper Class on Virgin Atlantic Airways for a trip from South Florida to South Africa via London.

While on vacation, what is the most ‘extreme’ thing that you have done?

I swam with the stingrays in Grand Cayman - not exactly extreme!

Which individual would you most want to meet in person: Richard Branson, Elon Musk, Oprah Winfrey or Bill Gates?

Richard Branson - in addition to being brilliant, I’m sure he wouldn’t mind picking up the bar tab.

Which is your favorite travel app on your mobile phone?

FlightAware - easy to track flights for myself or people that I need to pick up at the airport.

What hotel lobby feature has been your favorite so far?

I love a hotel lobby with a water feature / waterfall. The ambient noise instantly relaxes you.

I HATE eggplant!! I’ve tried it several times, prepared different ways, and I will never do it again.

If you could travel back in time, what year would you travel to?

1978 - My mother passed away late in 1978 when I was only 10 years old. I would love for her to meet my wife and kids.

If you could go to any city in the world to experience the history, people and culture, where would you go?

Istanbul - I have only been there for one day (a port call on a cruise ship). The culture, sites, etc., were amazing and definitely worth a longer stay.

Would you rather win an Olympic medal, an Academy Award or the Nobel Peace Prize?

Nobel Peace Prize – because it means that you have contributed in a meaningful way to society rather than an individual achievement.

What one packing tip would you share with clients?

Layers. You can always add or subtract but, if you haven’t packed it, you are out of luck.

If you could shop for free at one store, which one would you choose?

Whole Foods Market; clothes and gadgets are fun, but great food is a necessity.
